[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] The Words: idk The Notes <3 The sun was setting on Honolulu when Reagan sneaked through the staff entrance at the Hilton Hotel with a pizza and two bottles of Coca-Cola in tow. She was meeting her friend Ryland at one of their favorite spots in all of Honolulu, which just so happened to be the rooftop of one of the skyscrapers in the city. It was one of the best views of the bay and Reagan always felt as if she was on top of the world whenever she went up there. It was also an excellent place to think and reflect on on her life, which usually resulted in some well needed self reassurance from time to time.
Ryland wasn't just Reagan's friend, but also her ex-boyfriend. The pair were still on good terms after they had mutually agreed they were better off as friends, just over a year ago. The two had met at the bar Ryland worked at. Reagan's band had a gig there that night and they ended up hitting it off. They started dating pretty much straight after that night, which (now that Reagan reflected on it after the break up), was a mistake on their parts. If she could have done it all over again, Reagan knew that she would have started the relationship off much slower, starting out as friends before pursuing anything romantic. However, she accepted that all that was in the past now and was grateful that she was able to work on a friendship with Ryland now.
Reagan made her way up the countless amount of stairs as she she floor hopped to the top of the building. She always took the staff stairs to avoid getting caught if she were to take the elevator. Reagan didn't mind, she was a fit young woman who loved to keep active. From surfing to skateboarding to rocking out on stage, Reagan easily kept in shape without being conscious about it. She preferred the kind of exercise where it didn't feel like exercise because she was having fun. Once she reached the top, she breathed in the fresh air as she made her way to the railing after placing the pizza and cokes on the ground. It was obvious that Ryland hadn't arrived yet, but Reagan didn't mind waiting as she had all of Honolulu to admire from above. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath as the descending sun drenched her face in its golden light. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] THESE BRUISES MAKE FOR BETTER CONVERSATION The Words: 960 The Notes i'm excited!! (; He leaned against the side of his car after getting out and shutting the driver’s door. Closing his eyes he leaned his head back until it hit the cool metal. In his hands he held a bag that contained a couple pieces of cheesecake. Reagan’s favorite dessert, one of the many things he couldn’t forget about that girl. A little over a year ago the two mutually decided that they were better off as friends. What Reagan didn’t know was that Ryland truthfully didn’t want the relationship to end and he was a little overwhelmed when she brought it up. Naturally he agreed because it was what she wanted and he didn’t want to upset her even more. Unfortunately that meant Ryland still had feelings for her. He figured they would die shortly after their break-up, well they didn’t. If anything it made him want her even more. He didn’t know if that was because he was still friends with her and continued to learn so many amazing things about her or if it was because he wanted what he couldn’t have. Ry was betting on the first option though.
Taking a deep breath he started the small trek towards the Hilton Hotel. It felt safer to him if he parked a little distance away from the building, just in case. Just like the old days he agreed to meet Reagan on the rooftop. It was an activity that easily became a constant adventure to them. The risk of getting caught, but the freedom once actually reaching the top gave him such an adrenaline rush. You wouldn’t believe the peace and calm he felt up there. Almost as if reality didn’t exist and it was astounding. It was as if they were the only two in the world. Those afternoons that turned into nights were priceless. Star-gazing, talking about life, and listening to Reagan’s beautiful voice up on those hidden concrete paradises were memories Ryland would cherish forever. He finally reached the hotel and, as Reagan always suggested, used the staff stairs. She claimed it was much safer, but he didn’t understand why. Of course he wouldn’t argue with her. They seemed to have that nice and quiet, happy relationship. Until Reagan decided she didn’t want that anymore. It always killed Ry to think about what he could’ve done differently so that she didn’t feel that way.
The voyage up the stairs seemed shorter than he remember as he quickly found himself in front of the door that led outside. He quietly opened it and inhaled a breath of what seemed like the freshest air. It had been a while since he’d been on a rooftop. Sometimes bringing back memories weren’t the best of times for him. He quickly found the subject of his secret affections, her hair wasn’t hard to miss and anyone could easily pick her out of a crowd. It stood out against the monotone colored buildings that surrounded them, but complimented the colorful sky that was easily visible. The sun’s rays threw splashes of color all over the sky as if it was a freshly painted canvas. Ryland smiled as he approached Reagan, placing the cheesecakes next to the pizza and cokes. Wrapping his arms around her shoulders, giving her a gentle hug, he took in the sight of the sky and also her sweet smell that he remembered so perfectly. “Still beautiful..” He said quietly, speaking of the sky although it could’ve easily been directed towards Reagan as well. Ry didn’t really think about it at that moment though. It just felt nice to be able to spend time with her again. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] The Words: idk The Notes <3 From time to time Reagan would reflect on the relationship she had with Ryland. Despite the way it had ended, Reagan could still look back at all the times they had shared with fondness. Occasionally she would wonder if they had made a mistake by breaking up. It was those times where Reagan would have to reassure herself, by reminding herself of the reasons behind the break up. It wasn't due to Ryland crossing or betraying her or anything, merely that they had lost the spark that added romance into their lives...or at least, from Reagan's perspective. As their relationship went on, Reagan had felt herself viewing Ryland more and more as a friend rather than a boyfriend. She became caught up with the band and various other aspects of her life, which was an initial sign that their romantic relationship had begun to fall apart. She blamed herself for not making a better effort, guessing that she may not have been ready for a relationship at the time.
Whatever had happened between them, Reagan was both glad and grateful that she still had Ryland in her life. While the two of them grew a little distant, they had managed to remain friends for the year after their break up. Now that time had passed and it was less awkward between them, Reagan was pleased that they could have somewhat of a fresh start, hopefully absent of any unnecessary tension. During the year after their break up, the two hadn't hung out as much as they used to. They'd occasionally go into each others workplaces or catch up for the odd coffee, which had been great...just not completely satisfying.
Reagan missed hanging out on rooftops and seeking other forms of adrenaline rushes which had once taken place frequently when they dated. Before recently, Reagan felt hesitant about asking Ryland to hang out like the old days, thinking that it would hold them back from moving on with their friendship. Now that a whole year had passed, she figured it was safe to pursue her desire of wanting that close friendship with Ryland again.
While Reagan heard Ryland approaching, her eyes didn't leave the view before them. As he hugged her, a pleasant smile formed on her lips. "Hey Ry." She greeted Ryland, turning away from the view so that she could wrap her arms around him to give him a proper hug. "I didn't realise how much I missed all this until I actually got up here." She said happily as she let Ryland out of her embrace. "Shall we eat?" She asked, making her way to the pizza she had settled on the ground. She paused when she spotted what Ryland had brought. "You didn't!!" She exclaimed excitedly, opening the bag which contained a couple of pieces of cheesecake, her favorite dessert. "You did!!" She continued with a gasp. "You, Ryland Banks are my favorite person right now." She said with a laugh. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] THESE BRUISES MAKE FOR BETTER CONVERSATION The Words: 555 The Notes i'm excited!! (; Letting go briefly to let her turn around and hug him back, he smiled. To be able to feel her warm embrace again made him feel exceptionally pleased. Ryland could already tell this was going to be another amazing night to add to his list. Her voice distracted him from his thoughts. I didn't realize how much I missed all this until I actually got up here. He chuckled as he took a step back, letting her go as he took in the sight once more. “I couldn’t agree more. |
[/color]” He said, shaking his head. It’d be way too long, it was almost unacceptable. Shall we eat? Ry’s gaze followed Reagan as she journeyed over to the pizza and had a seat on the ground. He followed suit and sat down across from her, watching as she opened the bag that contained their dessert. You didn’t!! You did!! Ryland’s laugh rang out as he smiled once again. “ Of course I did! How could I forget?[/color]” He said, enjoying her excitement. To hear her voice and laughter again.. How he had missed it. Sadly, it’d been a while since these two were able to just get together and hang out. Things happen after a break-up and individuals grow apart. Even though they’d stayed friends after the break-up a distance did grow between them. Who caused that distance? Probably both of them and for their own reasons of course. Ryland didn’t blame her, that’s what people do after break-ups, whether it ended on good terms or not. Incidents like that are hard to overcome, especially when you still have feelings for your partner. This was finally a night they were able to enjoy an evening as friends with no tension or awkwardness between them. The little gatherings they’d have every so often were nothing compared to this. Small talk over coffee or just chit-chatting on the phone for a few minutes was not an adventurous evening on a rooftop. You, Ryland Banks are my favorite person right now. If only those words could mean what they once did to her. He was trying hard not to dwell on it too much tonight and promised himself that he wouldn’t. Ryland wanted this night to be fun and memorable. It was hard though. To be sitting across from the girl he loved without her feeling the same way anymore proved to be a challenge to him. He sucked it up for the moment though, determined to make this night one of the best and his smile grew once more. “ You know I always am!” He said jokingly, opening the box of pizza and grabbing a slice. It was still warm and tasted delicious as always. “ Mmmm, it’s still so good!” He added, taking another bite. The workers at the pizza joint probably had their order memorized a year ago because these two would venture up to the roof quite often back in the day. Eating the pizza reminded him how hungry he actually was. Due to unforeseen circumstances his lunch had been ruined, intentional or unintentional it didn’t matter. He didn’t need to think about the stress of his life right now. That’s why these two began their escapades, to get away from the real world. Ry gave Reagan another smile as he one handedly opened his coke bottle. [/div] [/center][/td][/tr][/td][/tr][/table][/center]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] The Words: idk The Notes <3 The night had barely even started, but Reagan knew that meeting on the rooftop like the good old days had been a fantastic idea. She found a strange sense of comfort while taking in their surroundings and the familiarity of hanging out with Ryland. "Given the amount of times I made you take me out for cheesecake, it's kind of impossible to forget huh?" She replied with a grin as she settled down on the ground, feeling content over being able to reminisce with Ryland. Sub-consciously, there was a part of Reagan that still missed the relationship she and Ryland had once shared. As far as relationships go, Reagan considered the romantic relationship she had with Ryland to be the best relationship she had been a part of, despite the fact that it had ran its course and ended.
Reagan was completely oblivious to the fact that Ryland still had feelings for her. She wasn't the type of girl who dragged men along to play some manipulative game for the sake of it. That had never been her style, which was the reason why she had brought up the topic of breaking up a year ago, she felt that being honest with themselves had been the respectful and mature thing to do. Had it been the right thing to do now reflecting on their past decisions? Reagan didn't know for sure, but spent a bit of time trying to convince herself that it had all been for the best.
Following Ryland's lead, she picked up a piece of pizza and began to munch on it gratefully. "This is heaven right here!" She spoke enthusiastically, a smile still etched on her features. She was happy to escape reality for a while, despite the fact that her life was getting on fairly well. It was still felt nice to step away from her everyday life to reconnect with a person she still valued dearly. "Look at you Mr Muscles." Reagan joked lightly as Ryland opened his coke in a one handed fashion. Reagan then opened her own bottle with two hands. "Clearly, I'm not as cool as you." She added with a grin, before taking a sip to wash down her first slice of pizza. "So what's news in the world of Ryland Banks?" She asked, a playful glint in her eyes. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] THESE BRUISES MAKE FOR BETTER CONVERSATION The Words: 893 The Notes awweh.. i luhh them. Recalling some of his favorite nights spent with Reagan was doing a lot to his emotions. If someone needed to know one thing about their past relationship it was that they knew how to have fun. Not always legal fun, but fun none the less. Besides, what the law didn’t know didn’t hurt them. Little field trips to the rooftops, sneaking into old abandoned buildings, and possibly trespassing in a certain part of the woods where there just happened to be a small waterfall and natural pool made these two young adults criminals in some minds. However, they liked to look at themselves as being carefree people who enjoyed a little risk-taking every now and again. Reagan seemed to be best at bringing out Ryland’s adventurous side. He didn’t mind one bit either. Being with her again seemed so natural, nothing was forced. That’s just one of the many things he loved about dating her. Nothing was fake, it was all real.
Her voice brought him back to the present once more. Given the amount of times I made you take me out for cheesecake, it's kind of impossible to forget huh? He chuckled and nodded. “Yeah, it kinda gets burned in one’s brain after so many times.” The amount of happiness that filled him at this point made him almost giddy. It was as though he was a little child with his first crush, but to be fair the two hadn’t seen each other in this kind of situation in a while. It just felt nice to be alone for once and he didn’t want anything to ruin tonight. This is heaven right here! Watching as Rae started chewing her pizza he couldn’t agree more. Sure the pizza was fantastic as always, but the situation? That was his heaven. It didn’t seem so far off base either. Secluded from the world, feeling high enough to play with the clouds almost felt like a dream to Ry. Telling by the darkening sky, the sun was almost ready to set completely. Soon the stars would come out and the sky would become a black canvas. As the night would wear on it would seem as though someone was tossing glitter onto that canvas as each star appeared within its own time.
Look at you Mr. Muscles. The smile on his face felt like it would never leave. He laughed as he held his arm out to her. He didn’t think about opening the bottle to be such a big feat, but if it impressed Rae, then so be it. “Go ahead, feel it. I know you want to.” He said, joking right back at her. “Nahh, you’re still pretty cool. You can do loads of stuff I can’t. Like play your music. You’re amazing at that.” That was true. Reagan was one of the most talented musicians out there. Unfortunately she just hadn’t made it big yet. Ryland knew that she would eventually, he’d put money on it. Her voice and the way she played that guitar; music was clearly her passion. He knew that she’d always be devoted to it and wouldn’t give it up for the world. Thinking about it, he wished she would’ve brought her guitar tonight. Sure she could still sing to him, but put that instrument in her hands and it was like magical combination. He smiled at the thought.
When Reagan asked what was new in his life, he wasn’t really sure how to answer, so he hesitated a moment. Recently there had been some drama in his life that he didn’t feel the need or want to bring Reagan into. Knowing that he still had feelings for the petite girl sitting in front of him made him second guess telling her about Juliana. It wasn’t as if he was ashamed of her, he just didn’t want to upset Rae tonight. He kind of had this feeling that she wouldn’t be excited to learn that he was casually sleeping with this girl with whom he was constantly fighting with. Besides, from their last encounter Julia was history. Their last fight in a way sent them over the edge. Ryland didn’t need to be thinking about it right now anyway. Instead he chose a much safer topic. Work. “Oh you know, just working a lot lately. I’m debating on getting another job at the university.. I kind of want to go back. Start it up again, finally get a degree and make my life useful. To have some kind of meaning would be nice.” He said, hoping to defer her thoughts away from his moment of reluctance.
Ryland had attended the university in Honolulu for a year, but dropped out because of two reasons; he really couldn’t afford it and he wasn’t motivated enough. He ended up working at the bar to pick up some extra cash in order to help pay for school, but he just never went back. It’d already been a few years since he left and his life seemed to be going nowhere as of right now. The idea of getting back on track sounded like a good plan, all he needed was the opportunity and drive to finish what he had started. “What about Sawyer-land? Anything new going on there?” He asked, taking a few sips of coke before grabbing another slice of pizza. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] The Words: idk The Notes <3 While Reagan had never gotten in any serious trouble before, bending rules and being a little bit rebellious were the kind of things that gave her the sense of adventure she desired so often. As long as she wasn't hurting anyone, she saw no harm in sneaking onto rooftops and skinny dipping on public grounds...or something like that. People were so easily influenced by society these days, it felt good to break out of the norms that society set for them from time to time. Reagan definitely considered Ryland to be one of the people that brought her adventurous side to the surface. It made things more fun when she had someone to share her experiences with.
Reagan was almost exploding with happiness right now. She felt so elated by the current situation she found herself in. Eating great food with someone she valued dearly with the whole of Honolulu at their feet was a smaller kind of Heaven for her. Since her mother passed away when she was thirteen, Reagan was one to cherish the little moments in life. She tried to live every day to the fullest because you never knew what could be right around the corner. 'Seize the day.' was one of Reagan's favorite sayings and that's exactly what she did by inviting Ryland to their old rooftop hide away just like old times. She wanted him in her life and not just for small talk over coffee.
Reagan giggled pleasantly as Ryland held out his arm for her to touch. With a grin on her face, she briefly, but firmly grasped Ryland's upper arm. "Nice guns, dude!" She commented playfully, she had almost forgotten about Ryland's muscular physique until now. "Why, thank you." Reagan accepted Ryland's compliment graciously. "I should have brought my guitar huh? Oh well, next time." She added, making it clear that she wanted to see him again after this. She didn't realize how much she had actually missed Ryland until this evening.
The fiery red head munched on her pizza contently as she listened to Ryland speak about what he had been up to recently. "You're useful, Ry. Don't let anyone tell you differently." She stated with a slight frown, before perking up again. "If going back to college is what you've got your heart on, you should go after it, but it should be for you. Not society, not anyone else." She added with a reassuring smile, taking a sip of her Coke. "Mainly just working at the music store and recording with the band. We're hoping to have our first album ready within a few months." Reagan replied excitedly to Ryland's question. The fact that she was working so hard with her band to create something that could potentially connect them to others on a creative level was an exciting thought indeed.
"So tell me, has a lucky lady found her way into your life recently?" Reagan asked openly, a sheepish smile forming on her lips. She believed that if the two of them were to become close friends, they had to be open with one another, even if that meant addressing questions that would usually be deemed as to awkward to talk about with your ex-partner. Well that and she was also curious about whether Ryland had truly attempted to move on or not. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] THESE BRUISES MAKE FOR BETTER CONVERSATION The Words: 721 The Notes i sent you a pm fyi.. To think that these two were no longer dating and that it had taken them this long to finally have a good night to themselves, seemed almost absurd. Even though they both lived their own lives while in the relationship, they tried to spend as much time together as they could. Ry enjoyed hanging out at Rae’s band practices and made sure he could attend almost every gig they had. Showing his support for her, even through her hardest times was important to him. He needed to make sure she understood that no matter where they ended up he’d always be there for her. One thing was certain, if it ever came down to it Ryland would never let Reagan give up on her music. He didn’t care how tough it got for her; he knew how passionate she was about it. Plus she just had such amazing talent.
Smiling as he heard Rae giggle, he watched her reach for his arm. To feel her touch him again sent a tingling sensation over his entire body. Oh how he had missed this. How he had missed her. Almost as if reading his mind she suggested that she should’ve brought her guitar. It was amazing how even now it seemed as though they could tell what the other was thinking about. Ryland smiled and nodded. “Yeah, and let’s make sure next time isn’t so far away? I don’t even know why it’s taken us this long to have a night like this.” He said, taking another slug of coke.
You're useful, Ry. Don't let anyone tell you differently. If going back to college is what you've got your heart on, you should go after it, but it should be for you. Not society, not anyone else. He smiled, appreciating her encouragement. She always seemed to go against society, which was a part of her that he enjoyed. “Thanks Rae. Really.” He said, smiling. To be honest he didn’t even know why he brought it up. It’s not like he wanted to go into detail about it anyway. He barely wanted to think about it right now.
Readjusting his position so that he was lying down on his side, with his head propped up by his arm that was bent at his elbow, he watched Reagan as she finished answering his question. Mainly just working at the music store and recording with the band. We're hoping to have our first album ready within a few months. Another smile appeared, even though the last one never really left. “I know! You were telling me about it on the computer. That’s so exciting and I know you must be so happy!” He added, his voice portrayed the excitement he was feeling for her. Truthfully, he was proud of her. She had a dream and was following it. She was an inspiration without even knowing it.
So tell me, has a lucky lady found her way into your life recently? His smile faltered for the first time since venturing onto the rooftop. Ryland bit his bottom lip, thinking about how to respond. He took a deep breath before he started speaking. “I’m not really sure. I don’t think she considers herself lucky. It’s really complicated right now and I don’t know what’s going on between us.” He sighed, trying not to drag the subject on, but feeling so close to Reagan he knew she wouldn’t mind. Of course it really didn’t help that he still had feelings for Rae, but couldn’t admit it to her. Sure the statement he said could’ve been implied to both Reagan and Juliana, but what he said next was definitely about Jules. “She seems to bring out the worst in me a lot. Actually, most of the time. Nothing compared to what we had. That..that was almost perfect, ya know? And I know it sounds terrible and you’re probably thinking ‘she’s not the one then’… and who knows? She may not be the one, but there’s something there. We’re both so stubborn and we know how to push each other’s buttons. It gets overwhelming with her, but we have fun sometimes. Unfortunately, we recently had a huge fight.. We’ll see where it goes though..” He said, shrugging his shoulders as he played with a napkin that was brought with the pizza. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] The Words: idk The Notes <3 To strangers, it probably looked as though Reagan and Ryland were still a couple, merely on a date so that they could spend more time with each other. It was strange for Reagan to consider that that's how things actually were once upon a time, but she chose not to bring that particular thought into the focus of the conversation. Reagan hesitated for a moment at Ryland's comment. She knew the answer to his observation but she would dare to say it out loud (not in that particular moment, anyway). However, the answer to Ryland's observation was simple: they had broken up and it had taken them quite a long amount of time to find their way back to the friend zone.
“Thanks Rae. Really.” At Ryland's thank you, Reagan smiled in satisfaction, pleased that she was able to offer Ryland some reassurance. The recounted the amount of times Ryland had been there for her in the past. Whenever she doubted herself when it came to her music, he was there. Whenever she felt the absence of her mother, he was there. Ryland had seen her at her best and her worst and that was something that Reagan could not forget easily.
Reagan listened to Ryland as he spoke about his current relationship status. She frowned and smiled where appropriate as he retold the whirlwind of a tale - that was his love life. "Well, it sounds like you've been on quite the roller coaster ride, Mr Banks." She replied lightly, her lips curving into an amused smile. When she and Ryland dated, things had been so simple, so natural. There had been no games played between them. Reagan was a young woman that got straight to the point. She avoided drama as much as she could and stood her ground whenever someone tried to strip her of who she truly was. Reagan wasn't one to budge so easily. Reagan bit her lip, debating whether or not she should state her opinion. After a moments hesitation, it was decided that she would speak her mind. "As a friend, I'm going to give you my honest opinion for your own good." She emphasized before continuing. "While you may like this girl and while there may be chemistry there, is it really worth it if she brings out the worst in you? Are you willing to compromise yourself as a person just to please someone else? You're worth so much more than that, Ry." She spoke honestly, wondering how he would take it. She wasn't sure that their relationship had been 'perfect', but it was a lot better than the relationship (if you'd call it that) Ryland found himself in now. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] THESE BRUISES MAKE FOR BETTER CONVERSATION The Words: 662 The Notes sorry if it sucks.. When Reagan brought up breaking up, it surprised Ryland a lot. He hadn’t expected anything of the sort. He thought their relationship was pretty much perfect. They always had fun and rarely did they ever fight. He had his jealous tendencies, which were frustrating for Rae, but she knew it was only because he cared about her so much. Maybe that’s what he did wrong. To this day he still wasn’t sure why she felt the need to ruin the best thing about his life. There were nights he would spend wide awake, wishing he had done a list of things differently, in order to keep Reagan. It hurt to lose her, but it would hurt even more if they were to have never spoken again. That’s why Ry agreed to “mutually” breakup. It wasn’t a fun time however, and most days he regrets not telling her how he truly felt.
The fact that they were still good friends meant that they were still there for each other. There was no denying that both of them still cared for each other. It was just in a different way now. At least for Rae it was. He let out a quiet sigh as he watched the sky grow darker. He thought about everything that was going on in his life. Even though he was going through a lot, he knew there were others out there with it much worse than he had it. Ryland tried to remind himself that this was supposed to be a fun night just hanging out with Reagan, but he realized that once he brought out the Juliana story the night took a turn towards the serious. Well, it sounds like you've been on quite the roller coaster ride, Mr Banks. Ry let out a chuckle that sounded almost defeated. He nodded his head in agreement. With a faint smile he laid back completely now, looking directly up at the sky. “You have no idea..” He said quietly. After a few moments of silence her voice began.
As a friend, I'm going to give you my honest opinion for your own good. Ryland had to remind himself that he was with Reagan and didn’t need to be on the defensive. Especially when the first thought in his head when she said that was, how do you know what’s for my own good, you’re the one that broke up with me. He stopped himself from acting like a jerk around her. It wasn’t her fault that he was upset. It was Jules. She was the one who didn’t know what she wanted in life. She was the one pushing and pulling him all over the place. He took a deep breath, waiting for the rest of what Rae was going to say. While you may like this girl and while there may be chemistry there, is it really worth it if she brings out the worst in you? Are you willing to compromise yourself as a person just to please someone else? You're worth so much more than that, Ry. He closed his eyes and rubbed his face with one hand. He didn't know what he was worth anymore at times. “I don’t know Rae..” He tried thinking about what she said. After a few moments, he began to speak. “Am I really compromising myself? I just don’t know anymore.. But maybe you’re right.”
Thinking about Juliana made his head hurt, add his feelings for Reagan into the mix and it was like a migraine. He shook his head, sitting up and taking another drink of his coke. “I’m sorry, I really didn’t mean to waste time talking about all of my nonsense bullshit drama. I just wanted this to be a fun night like we use to have. I really miss times like that Rae. Life seemed so simple back then. It was just so easy.” He said, biting his lip as he looked down at the concrete roof. |
